Under Maintenance
You talk, we listen and respond. Yes we do listen to your feedback and that’s why we are planning to close for two days to improve our amenities.
To provide you with a more quiet and serene environment to relax, we are installing a new glass door separating the waiting area from the therapy rooms, as well as changing to a more sound-proof flooring. These will minimize the noise coming from the reception area.
We will closing the spa for maintenance from 24 March 2010 to 25 March 2010. Apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please keep the feedback coming, so we can serve you better on your next trip. Hope you will like the “new” spa.

For generations, people in Japan have celebrated New Year’s Day by sending specially designed cards — nengajō (年賀状) — to each other. As part of the tradition, postal workers stock all the nengajō that are mailed in the final weeks of the old year, and then deliver every single one on New Year’s Day.
Nengajō often based on the present year’s zodiacal animal and 2010 is the Year of Tiger.

…you can argue that Hello Kitty is actually a Tiger
Nengajo cards purchased from Japan Post have a lottery number on each card. The cards can be purchased with a blank back or with printed designs. On January 15th, the winning numbers are picked and the results are announced the following day on television and in newspapers.

Here is an example of a winning number
The holders of winning numbers receive prizes. The prizes are not money. The first prize in a past lottery was a wide screen TV set, a car navigation system, and a washer/dryer. The second prize was a camera, a radio and a CD player. The third prize was a regional products gift pack, and the fourth prize was a collection of commemorative stamps. We are hosting our very own nengajō lottery draw this year – the 21 winners will be announced on 15th January on Twitter and Facebook. Join our facebook page and follow our twitter page now.

Do you know that Japanese just love mascots – you’ll find them everywhere in Japan, even the government has them as their spokespersons.

Kyuta
Above: Kyuta is the mascot for Tokyo Fire Department. He is dedicated in detecting emergency calls in Tokyo with his antenna-equipped headgear.

Prince Pickles
Above: Prince Pickles, mascot for Ministry of Defence, has his own comic books.

Pipo-kun
Above: The mascot for Tokyo Metropolitan Police, Pipo-kun, even has his own song!
Mascots were once part and parcel of many Singaporean’s childhood. You won’t find them unfamiliar. Well they do seem to have a queer liking for running (or flying) around butt naked, obviously they don’t hang out often with SpongeBob SquarePants

A&W Bear

Singa the Courtesy Lion

Teamy the Productivity Bee
