We felt sorry for our customers whom left stranded in traffic trying to get to our spa. Apparently, someone has drove a crane through the overhead bridge, and yes, the one bridge just in front of Ikeda Spa.

The worse part is it took six hours to “saw” down the bridge, causing massive traffic from Whitley onwards.

And now, we have a bungee jump platform in front of our spa.

Bungee Jump

Once again, thank you for your understanding and patience, to all customers whom have kindly called to cancel their appointments.

If you are thinking of cooking up a storm in order to impress your partners this Valentine, it will be too time-consuming and not rewarding, as you’ll end up with little quality time to spend together.

Why not learn from the experts some tips on wine pairing and quick & easy appetizers preparation, at the same time, get to taste 8 different types of boutique wines (Old World and New World) that you can hardly get over the counter for FREE.

As this is the promotion by Winekaki for our fans of Ikeda Spa, just need to pay $20 (U.P. $50) for the savoury appetizers; the wines and course fee are totally on the house.

The Food Wine Pairing course will be held at:
Venue: Restaurant next to Ikeda Spa
Address: 789 Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 269763 (Before 6th Avenue)
Date: 6th February 2010, 2.30 – 4.30 pm

RSVP before 5th Feb. Click here to register.

In case you called this afternoon and got a busy tone… we were closed for lunch because we decided to went for a swim today. Well, actually, the swimming pool came to us!

Swimming pool at the doorstep

Swimming pool at the doorstep

The rain god had a big night yesterday and woke up with a massive hangover with a huge load of p***. What seemed a normal beautiful day quickly turned ugly, we were besieged by tsunami of “lokang” (drain) water in our little spa. Not resigning to fate, our calm-minded therapists took the situation into their own hands and build our own sandbag barricade of spa towels (Don’t worry, we sent them for professional cleaning every night). Slowly but surely, we saw our neighbours went down one after another under the rain of bullets. Our sandbags can hold no longer, Ms. Spa Manager wisely call for a retreat. Hell broke loose. Computers, flower pots, painting, customer *pun* all have to move to higher ground.

In midst of the chaos, we did not forget to uphold our service excellence. Ms. Receptionist made her routine reminder call to Mrs. Tan.

Ms. Receptionist: Hello Mrs. Tan, we are calling from Ikeda Spa. Please be reminded that your appointment starts at 3pm.

Mrs. Tan: I know… but I’m stuck at Coronation Plaza… I cannot find my Merz.

Ms. Receptionist: Mrs Tan, did you forget where you park?

Mrs. Tan: No. I remembered clearly I have parked in Basement 1… just that I have forgotten to bring along my diving goggles.

Ms. Receptionist: Don’t worry, Mrs Tan. We can wait. By the way, your Shiatsu appointment has been changed to Watsu therapy. Hope you find your car soon. Thank you.

Business resume as usual tomorrow 20th Nov. We hope :) In case you wonder, there is no reported casualty, all our team survived the storm. Banzai! Banzai! Banzai!
