Eye Care: The Alternative to Botox around the eyes

Wondering which treatment to choose? Botox & Fillers or Facial Eye Treatment? Our previous sharing provided insights into eye cream and eye treatment. Common treatments include RF, Ultrasound, and traditional eye treatments. If you have not read about it, read it here.

Before we begin to compare, have you ever wondered what the difference is and still been confused?

Botox and Fillers are non-invasive eye procedures in which products are injected into the eye area to achieve specific results, such as reducing dark circles and firming and lifting the eyes to make them look younger and brighter.

A person receives a botox injection near the eye area from a gloved hand, with text reading "Botox & Fillers Eye Treatment" on the right side.

1. Botox

Botox, also known as Botulinum Toxin, is a treatment that blocks the nerve signal that tells the muscles around the eye to contract. It temporarily relaxes facial muscles and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Botox treatment will only take a few minutes after the doctor has mapped out the injection sites for the fine needles. Depending on the treatment, it generally takes 7 to 14 days for the effect to start. The lasting effects of Botox vary from two to six months.

A woman with flawless skin smiles at the camera. Text reads “Botox & Fillers Vs Facial Eye Treatment” with the Ikeda Spa logo in the upper right corner, highlighting the benefits of botox for radiant, youthful-looking skin.

2. Fillers

Unlike Botox, Fillers are used to fill the creases that cause wrinkles, creating a smoother appearance and giving the eyes a “plump” look.

Depending on your concern, many different types of injectables are available. For instance, you might opt for Botox or a hyaluronic acid injection to reduce wrinkles, or consider Restylane Tear-trough fillers to soften deep dark circles.

The duration of Fillers Eye Treatment will generally be the same as that of Botox treatment. The effect of the treatment varies from immediately after your session to 7 to 14 days, depending on the treatment. The effect of fillers lasts from 2 to 6 months, too.

A blue sky with clouds, a bright sun, the text "FAQs" in the centre, and four black question marks surround the text—perfect for answering common botox queries.

After understanding more about the two aesthetic treatments, please remember that choosing the right clinic is very important. Knowing if the clinics are qualified to conduct the treatments is crucial. Some questions you may want to check:

  • What qualifications does the Clinic have?
  • How much does the treatment cost, and how is it charged?
  • Which brand of products does the Clinic use?
  • Are there any testimonials to show the effect of the treatment?
  • Is there any downtime? If yes, how long?
  • What are the potential side effects?
  • What after-care will I be given?

Let’s now compare aesthetic eye treatment and facial eye treatment.

 Aesthetic Eye TreatmentFacial Eye Treatment

Now that you understand the differences between these two treatments, you can choose the approach that suits you best.

A woman applies eye cream to her under-eye area with one finger, next to the text: "Remember to apply your eye cream too—even if you have botox!.

Remember the importance of eye cream, too; you will still need to apply it even after these eye treatments! However, if rich eye creams have caused tiny white bumps to form around your delicate eye area, you may want to consider a facial that includes milia seed removal to keep your skin smooth and flawless.
