The celebrations will not be limited to what happens inside the National Stadium. The Presidential Gun Salute and State Flag Flypast will take place over Kallang Basin, bringing more of the parade experience to spectators gathered around the wider Kallang precinct.

Will Every NDP Rehearsal Have Fireworks?
Full NDP rehearsals and previews usually include all the major elements of the show. However, the NDP fireworks display may be altered due to weather or safety concerns. Therefore, treat these rehearsals and previews as an opportunity to possibly catch the NDP fireworks, but not a guarantee. Check the latest NDP advisories before heading to Kallang.

During the rehearsals for the National Day Parade, there have been various reports of when the NDP fireworks may begin. Generally, there will be several shorter fireworks shows before the main fireworks finale.

For those who want to watch the NDP fireworks from spots immediately outside the National Stadium, it is best to arrive between 6.00 pm and 6.30 pm. These spots will fill quickly, especially during the rehearsals and the National Day Parade itself.
For those who want to watch the NDP fireworks from across the water at Tanjong Rhu, Nicoll Highway, or Kallang Riverside Park, arriving between 6.30 pm and 7.00 pm will be fine.
Do not arrive only for the main NDP fireworks finale. You will miss the earlier NDP fireworks and other displays during the National Day Parade.

1. Stadium Riverside Walk
Best for: The closest public view
Expected crowd: Very high
Nearest MRT: Stadium MRT, Exit A or B
Stadium Riverside Walk is situated beside the National Stadium and Kallang Wave Mall. It is close to the show’s location. Being on the waterfront means you will have a close view of the fireworks launched in the Kallang Basin. You may also hear the sounds of performances held in the stadium. As this is the closest public location to the National Stadium, it will be the first to fill up with viewers. Visitors should arrive early and be prepared for congestion before and after the fireworks show.
How to get there:
Take the Circle Line to Stadium MRT. Take Exit A or B and follow the signs to the National Stadium waterfront.

By 6.00 pm. For the shows on 1 and 9 August, arrive even earlier.

Tanjong Rhu Promenade faces the National Stadium and Kallang Wave Mall. It has a wider view of the Kallang Basin. Instead of being directly under the fireworks, you can get a view of the skyline and the water across the basin. This is one of the better locations for taking photos of the fireworks show. Because the promenade is long, you will have more space to spread out than at the Stadium Riverside Walk. However, the areas near the footbridge and the waterfront railing may fill up with viewers.
How to get there:
Take the Thomson-East Coast Line to Tanjong Rhu MRT. According to the official NDP website, the National Stadium precinct is an 11-minute walk from the station.

Because the area is less familiar to the public, visitors should consult a map before arriving to choose the best location along the Kallang Basin waterfront.

Take the Circle Line to Nicoll Highway MRT. Walk towards the Kallang Basin waterfront area.

Take the Circle Line to Stadium MRT. Follow the signs to Stadium Walk and the Indoor Stadium.

For a more distant view of the fireworks, visitors can view the show from Kallang Riverside Park near Merdeka Bridge. This location is farther from the National Stadium. The fireworks will appear smaller from this location, but it will be less crowded. The park has waterfront areas that may offer views of the Kallang Basin.
How to get there:
Take the East-West Line to Lavender MRT. Walk to Kallang Riverside Park and Merdeka Bridge.

The area around the National Stadium has been designated as a Special Event Area for the whole of 9 August 2026. Enhanced security checks will be conducted within designated zones, and Police officers may restrict entry or remove visitors when necessary for public safety.
Do not bring prohibited items into the designated Special Event Area. Drones and other unmanned aircraft are also prohibited around the event area unless a valid permit has been obtained.
Visitors can use the official Crowd@NationalStadium live crowd map from 5.00 pm to 10.30 pm on 9 August to check real-time crowd levels and see whether any public viewing areas have been closed.
Popular locations such as Stadium Riverside Walk and Tanjong Rhu may be temporarily restricted when crowd levels reach their safety capacity. Follow the instructions of Police officers, marshals and security personnel.

- Avoid driving to the National Stadium or Kallang Basin.
- Stadium, Tanjong Rhu and Nicoll Highway MRT stations may become extremely crowded.

At least one separate community fireworks event has now been listed. The People’s Association is holding the Jalan Kayu National Day Celebration & Fireworks Extravaganza 2026 at Fernvale Square on Friday, 7 August, from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm. This is a ticketed community event with a listed price of S$5. It is separate from the main NDP fireworks at Kallang Basin on 9 August. Are the fireworks suitable for young children?
