Genki Kids Tummy & Foot Massage
Does your child sometimes complain that their tummy feels bloated or uncomfortable?
Or does bedtime arrive and suddenly you hear, “Mummy, my legs hurt”?
Between school, tuition, sports and play, little bodies can have surprisingly long days. When their tummy or legs feel uncomfortable, winding down at night can be difficult too.
The Genki Kids Tummy & Foot Massage is a gentle 30-minute Japanese-inspired massage for children aged 4 to 12, focusing on the tummy, calves and feet.
Our therapists adapt every movement and pressure level to your child’s comfort. And if it is their first massage, you can stay right beside them.
Who Is Genki Kids Tummy & Foot Massage For?
Maybe you already find yourself rubbing their tummy when it feels bloated or massaging their legs when they ache at bedtime.
This treatment gives those little problem areas 30 minutes of gentle, focused care.

For Bloated, Gassy or Uncomfortable Tummy
Slow, gentle circular movements over the abdomen help your child relax and may soothe feelings of bloating or discomfort. There is no deep abdominal pressure.

For Tired, Achy Calves and Feet
Running, sports and everyday play can leave little legs feeling tired by evening. A gentle massage helps relax the hardworking calf and foot muscles while giving your child a chance to slow down.

For Children Who Find It Hard to Wind Down
Thirty quiet minutes away from screens, schoolwork and activities gives your child time to simply rest. It is not a sleep treatment, but it can be a calming way to transition from a busy day into a quieter evening.
What Happens During Their 30-Minute Massage?
The session is adapted around how your child feels that day.

1. A Quick Comfort Check
The therapist first asks how your child is feeling and whether anything feels particularly uncomfortable, sensitive or ticklish.
2. Gentle Tummy Massage
Light, circular, sweeping movements are used around the tummy, with pressure kept gentle and comfortable.
3. Calf & Foot Relaxation
The therapist then massages the lower legs and feet using smooth, gentle strokes to relax tired muscles.
More or less time can be spent on each area depending on what your child needs that day.
The Little Bit of Care Mum Can’t Always Give at Bedtime
You already rub their tummy when they say it hurts.
You already massage their legs when they call for you at bedtime.
Sometimes, it feels good to let someone else take care of them for a while.
Genki Kids Tummy & Foot Massage is designed specifically for children, with gentle techniques, child-adapted pressure and their comfort leading every step.
And you don’t have to leave them alone. You are welcome to stay right beside them throughout the treatment.
Give their tired little body 30 minutes to slow down, relax and be cared for.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the therapists trained specifically to massage children?
Yes. Our therapists undergo specific training in Japanese-inspired pediatric massage techniques. They understand the anatomy of growing children and use modified, gentle strokes that are entirely different from those used in adult deep-tissue massages.
Can I stay in the room while my child has the massage?
Yes. You are welcome to stay with your child throughout the session, especially if it is their first massage or they feel more comfortable having you nearby. If you would like to enjoy a spa experience together, you may also want to consider our Parent & Kid Spa Day.
What if my child is ticklish or uncomfortable?
Just let the therapist know. We can change the pressure, technique, position or move away from an area your child does not enjoy.
What if my child wants to stop halfway?
Your child can ask for less pressure, skip an area, change position or stop the massage at any time. Their comfort always comes first.
Is the pressure too hard for a young child’s growing bones?
Not at all. The treatment uses light, rhythmic, and sweeping motions. The focus is on soothing the muscles and skin, not pressing into the joints or bones.
Will this treat my child’s constipation?
Genki Kids Tummy & Foot Massage is a wellness and relaxation treatment, not a treatment for constipation. A gentle tummy massage may feel soothing when your child is bloated or uncomfortable, but ongoing or recurrent constipation should be managed separately.
Will it help with growing pains?
Gentle massage can be comforting for tired or achy leg muscles, especially after an active day. Persistent, unusual or unexplained leg pain should be assessed rather than automatically assumed to be growing pains.
Is tummy massage safe for children?
Yes. We use a Japanese technique inspired by Ampuku, which involves very light, gentle clockwise strokes following the natural path of digestion. It is a superficial, soothing touch designed to ease bloating and trapped wind, never a deep or invasive pressure.
What oil do you use?
We use child-friendly massage oil for a smooth, gentle massage. If your child has sensitive skin, eczema, allergies or known sensitivities, please let us know when booking.
How long should we wait after my child eats?
Avoid scheduling the treatment immediately after a heavy meal. Allowing some time after eating will generally make tummy massage more comfortable.
When shouldn’t I book the massage?
Please postpone the treatment if your child has a fever, vomiting, diarrhoea or an active stomach illness. Persistent or severe tummy pain, unusual leg pain, swelling or an injury should be assessed before booking.
How often should my child get this massage?
It depends entirely on your child’s needs. Some parents book weekly sessions during active sports seasons or intense growth spurts, while others visit once or twice a month as a regular wellness and relaxation routine.
What should my child do after the massage?
We recommend offering your child plenty of room-temperature water after the session to help flush out the muscle tension released during the foot massage. You can generally expect them to feel much calmer and more ready for a smooth bedtime that evening.
