Do you know that Japanese just love mascots – you’ll find them everywhere in Japan, even the government has them as their spokespersons.

Mascots were once part and parcel of many Singaporean’s childhood. You won’t find them unfamiliar. Well they do seem to have a queer liking for running (or flying) around butt naked, obviously they don’t hang out often with SpongeBob SquarePants :P

Favourite Food: Kaiseki Ryori (Traditional Japanese cuisine)
Favourite Drink: Gyokuro (“Jade Dew” green tea)

Favourite TV Drama: Watashi wo Ryokan ni Tsuretete (Bring Me to the Hotel)
Hobbies: Chado (Japanese tea making), getting customers feel at home, being massaged, giving massage

Okami-san is the figurative representation of our staff who not only bear the greatest responsibility for waiting on and taking care of you as our Okyaku-sama but also making sure your every visit to Ikeda is a unique yet homecoming experience. Her kimono and smile is a reflection of Ikeda’s culture based on the spirit of hospitality, inculcated to every members of Ikeda. She is our inspiration to serve our customers with extreme courtesy and respect, embracing the true meaning behind Japanese saying of “okyakusama wa kamisama desu“, literally translated into “the customer is God”.
