Interview with Peggy (SIXPEGS)

We had the pleasure of an exclusive interview with Peggy Chang of Sixpegs when she came down for our Special Edition Yuzu Onsen. Well, here is the full-length interview!

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Peggy. I co-own two cafes – The Tiramisu Hero and Butter My Buns. On the side, I’m also…I don’t like to use this word, but people call me an influencer. I want to dabble around with Instagram, blog, and write stuff that people might like to read.

What are you passionate about?

I like photography, I like travelling, I like spending time with my family, friends and my… pets.

What is something people don’t know about Sixpegs?

Something people don’t know about Sixpegs.. could be anything? I can’t swim. (laughs) I might look tan and all, but I can’t swim.

Tell us about your first experience here.

The first time I came here was 5 years ago. I went to the other branch – the one at Bukit Timah – because it was near my office, where I was working back then. I think I went there 2-3 times, usually when I need a massage. When I need to unwind, that’s my go-to place.

How did you first find out about us?

It was by word of mouth. My colleague brought me there, and she was generous enough to share the package she had over at Ikeda back then. I was pretty sold after just one session.

What do you like about Ikeda Spa?

I think it starts from the very first moment you step into Ikeda, it’s very welcoming. The people feel very genuine and sincere, not pushy like some of the spas I might have visited before. The place is very comfortable to be in, very cosy, and the services are good, of course. I like how everything – from the furniture to the music to the ambience is very in line with how Ikeda is like -it’s very Japanese.

Sixpegs tried our Special Edition Yuzu Onsen. What was your favourite part?

Apart from the onsen, the moment I saw the place, I was like omg, I can’t wait to have a dip inside the onsen. I like the smell. It’s a lovely scent, very refreshing. The whole set-up was private, cosy and very clean. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Who do you think this Onsen is best suited for?

Best suited for? I think everyone should try the special Yuzu Onsen. Especially if you are like me, I just had a workout yesterday, and I was aching all over, and having a dip in the onsen helped.
